Ennistymon is a market town dating to the early 1700’s when fairs days were a regular occurance. Farmer traditionally came to town with their animals and goods and tarded and sold. The Ennistymon Horse fair aims at keeping this tradition alive. Many top breeders from Ireland and Europe come to Ennistymon for Ennistymon Horse fair which occurs in April and November.
There is also music in some of the pubs during the fair which adds to a nice atmosphere within the town.
